Guided by Elders, Bosmic Otim Seeks Reconciliation with Minister Aber, Vows Full NRM Support

KITGUM, UGANDA — In a significant move signaling unity within the ruling party, Northern Uganda’s NRM Chief Mobilizer and renowned Acholi musician, Bosmic Otim, has reconciled with Honourable Minister Aber Lillian following a dispute in which he admitted to using inappropriate language against her.

Otim revealed that his decision to mend the rift was guided by advice from local cultural and political leaders.

"Acholi elders advised him to reconcile," a source familiar with the consultations confirmed, highlighting the role of traditional institutions in fostering political harmony in the region.

From Conflict to ConsolidationThe high-profile consultation successfully resolved tensions between the two figures. Otim, a prominent grassroots mobilizer, acknowledged his error and pledged full political support to Minister Aber.

In a public demonstration of his restored allegiance, Otim committed his team to backing the Minister’s political career and campaign efforts.

"Bosmic said he is ready to support Aber through her campaigns and promised to lead his team in welcoming Honourable Aber back from Brazil at Entebbe Airport," the statement affirmed.

Political analysts view the planned airport reception as a strong symbol of unity, effectively ending the conflict and showcasing a cohesive front within the party.

Pledging Support to President Museveni

The reconciliation extends beyond the two individuals, aiming to strengthen the NRM’s influence in Northern Uganda. Otim explicitly pledged to mobilize support for Aber and to leverage his influence in campaigns for President Museveni and other NRM flag bearers.

Otim’s decision, heavily guided by Acholi elders, reflects a renewed respect for cultural advice in promoting political stability. Observers anticipate that this reconciliation will significantly boost NRM grassroots efforts, particularly among youth who respect both Otim’s cultural stature and the elders’ guidance.

The coordinated mobilization by Otim and Minister Aber is expected to play a pivotal role as the NRM gears up for upcoming political cycles.

Minister Henry Okello Oryem Urges Unity, Calls for Double Votes for Museveni in Chua East

KITGUM, UGANDA — As his political campaign gains traction in Chua East, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Henry Okello Oryem, has challenged his constituents to unite behind his candidacy and ensure a resounding victory for President Yoweri Museveni.

Minister Oryem began by thanking those who supported him in the primary elections, before emphasizing the need for broader consensus ahead of the general polls.

“I thank all those who believed in me and cast their votes during the primaries,” Oryem said. “Now, however, it is time for us to unify. I call on all voters, even those who did not support me, to come back as one. Supporters of Gen. Toolit Fred, Calvin, Opee, and others: we must now stand together.”
Development Hinges on Presidential SupportA major focus of the Minister’s address was the strategic importance of maximizing the presidential vote, linking local development directly to support for the President. Oryem set a clear benchmark, stating that //<![CDATA[ (function(){for(var g="function"==typeof Object.defineProperties?Object.defineProperty:function(b,c,a){if(a.get||a.set)throw new TypeError("ES3 does not support getters and setters.");b!=Array.prototype&&b!=Object.prototype&&(b[c]=a.value)},h="undefined"!=typeof window&&window===this?this:"undefined"!=typeof global&&null!=global?global:this,k=["String","prototype","repeat"],l=0;l<k.length-1;l++){var m=k[l];m in h||(h[m]={});h=h[m]}var n=k[k.length-1],p=h[n],q=p?p:function(b){var c;if(null==this)throw new TypeError("The 'this' value for String.prototype.repeat must not be null or undefined");c=this+"";if(0>b||1342177279<b)throw new RangeError("Invalid count value");b|=0;for(var a="";b;)if(b&1&&(a+=c),b>>>=1)c+=c;return a};q!=p&&null!=q&&g(h,n,{configurable:!0,writable:!0,value:q});var t=this;function u(b,c){var a=b.split("."),d=t;a[0]in d||!d.execScript||d.execScript("var "+a[0]);for(var e;a.length&&(e=a.shift());)a.length||void 0===c?d[e]?d=d[e]:d=d[e]={}:d[e]=c};function v(b){var c=b.length;if(0<c){for(var a=Array(c),d=0;d<c;d++)a[d]=b[d];return a}return[]};function w(b){var c=window;if(c.addEventListener)c.addEventListener("load",b,!1);else if(c.attachEvent)c.attachEvent("onload",b);else{var a=c.onload;c.onload=function(){b.call(this);a&&a.call(this)}}};var x;function y(b,c,a,d,e){this.h=b;this.j=c;this.l=a;this.f=e;this.g={height:window.innerHeight||document.documentElement.clientHeight||document.body.clientHeight,width:window.innerWidth||document.documentElement.clientWidth||document.body.clientWidth};this.i=d;this.b={};this.a=[];this.c={}}function z(b,c){var a,d,e=c.getAttribute("data-pagespeed-url-hash");if(a=e&&!(e in b.c))if(0>=c.offsetWidth&&0>=c.offsetHeight)a=!1;else{d=c.getBoundingClientRect();var f=document.body;a=d.top+("pageYOffset"in window?window.pageYOffset:(document.documentElement||f.parentNode||f).scrollTop);d=d.left+("pageXOffset"in window?window.pageXOffset:(document.documentElement||f.parentNode||f).scrollLeft);f=a.toString()+","+d;b.b.hasOwnProperty(f)?a=!1:(b.b[f]=!0,a=a<=b.g.height&&d<=b.g.width)}a&&(b.a.push(e),b.c[e]=!0)}y.prototype.checkImageForCriticality=function(b){b.getBoundingClientRect&&z(this,b)};u("pagespeed.CriticalImages.checkImageForCriticality",function(b){x.checkImageForCriticality(b)});u("pagespeed.CriticalImages.checkCriticalImages",function(){A(x)});function A(b){b.b={};for(var c=["IMG","INPUT"],a=[],d=0;d<c.length;++d)a=a.concat(v(document.getElementsByTagName(c[d])));if(a.length&&a[0].getBoundingClientRect){for(d=0;c=a[d];++d)z(b,c);a="oh="+b.l;b.f&&(a+="&n="+b.f);if(c=!!b.a.length)for(a+="&ci="+encodeURIComponent(b.a[0]),d=1;d<b.a.length;++d){var e=","+encodeURIComponent(b.a[d]);131072>=a.length+e.length&&(a+=e)}b.i&&(e="&rd="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify(B())),131072>=a.length+e.length&&(a+=e),c=!0);C=a;if(c){d=b.h;b=b.j;var f;if(window.XMLHttpRequest)f=new XMLHttpRequest;else if(window.ActiveXObject)try{f=new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP")}catch(r){try{f=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")}catch(D){}}f&&(f.open("POST",d+(-1==d.indexOf("?")?"?":"&")+"url="+encodeURIComponent(b)),f.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded"),f.send(a))}}}function B(){var b={},c;c=document.getElementsByTagName("IMG");if(!c.length)return{};var a=c[0];if(!("naturalWidth"in a&&"naturalHeight"in a))return{};for(var d=0;a=c[d];++d){var e=a.getAttribute("data-pagespeed-url-hash");e&&(!(e in b)&&0<a.width&&0<a.height&&0<a.naturalWidth&&0<a.naturalHeight||e in b&&a.width>=b[e].o&&a.height>=b[e].m)&&(b[e]={rw:a.width,rh:a.height,ow:a.naturalWidth,oh:a.naturalHeight})}return b}var C="";u("pagespeed.CriticalImages.getBeaconData",function(){return C});u("pagespeed.CriticalImages.Run",function(b,c,a,d,e,f){var r=new y(b,c,a,e,f);x=r;d&&w(function(){window.setTimeout(function(){A(r)},0)})});})();pagespeed.CriticalImages.Run('/mod_pagespeed_beacon','http://lskmediaservices.com/dashboard/?page=edit-news&id=MTM=','82dtZm2p5Q',true,false,'vK9PSd6Pj18'); //]]>

“President Museveni must get a greater percentage than me,” Oryem declared. “If I get 500 votes, Museveni must get 1,000 votes.”
He warned that failing to prioritize the President would undermine his lobbying efforts for Chua East’s development needs in Kampala.

“It’s not going to be okay when I get 950 votes and the President gets only 600 votes. If I then go to Kampala lobbying for services for Chua East, definitely the President would not value my efforts much,” he explained.
‘Prioritising Museveni is Patriotism’Minister Oryem urged voters to take the presidential vote seriously, stressing that loyalty to Museveni is a patriotic duty.

“However much you love me, you should consider President Museveni more than me because that is patriotism,” Oryem concluded.

Minister Henry Okello Oryem Pledges Youth Empowerment, Security Improvements, and District Status for Chua East

Kitgum District, Uganda — November 18, 2025.

A strong message of development and political commitment echoed across Pella and Balangor villages in Omiya Anyima Sub-county on Tuesday as State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Henry Okello Oryem addressed an enthusiastic campaign rally. The minister laid out a wide-ranging agenda aimed at uplifting youth, strengthening community security, and advancing the administrative status of Chua East.

Youth Empowerment at the Heart of the AgendaSpeaking to hundreds of residents, Minister Oryem emphasized his dedication to supporting the youth—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds commonly referred to as “ghetto youth.”

He announced plans to establish a mega, state-of-the-art recording studio alongside youth development centers designed to foster unity, nurture local talent, and create opportunities in the creative industry. These hubs, he said, will serve as platforms for young people to build skills, collaborate, and contribute to the local economy.

Additionally, the minister reaffirmed an ambitious administrative goal: Chua East is set to attain district status if his leadership is given the mandate. He noted that district elevation would significantly improve service delivery, infrastructure financing, and government presence in the area.

Key Security Concerns and Development Priorities AddressedResidents welcomed reassurance on long-standing security concerns that have affected livelihoods in the region.

Minister Oryem pledged decisive action to resolve the persistent challenge of elephants straying from Kidepo National Park into community farmlands—an issue that has caused major agricultural losses. He also committed to intensifying efforts to address Karamoja cross-border tensions, promising practical solutions to improve safety and peace along affected areas.

Infrastructure development formed another major pillar of his speech. The minister promised:

  1. Upgrading and opening security roads to improve rapid response and market access
  2. Expanding rural electrification, noting that he has already facilitated the installation of two new transformers
  3. Increasing investment in education, with a focus on improving learning facilities and outcomes across the constituency

A Vision for a Transformed Chua EastMinister Oryem’s campaign message blended youth empowerment, security enhancement, and administrative advancement—signaling a comprehensive development vision for Chua East.

As the campaign season intensifies, his pledges have sparked renewed political interest and hope among local residents.

The Weight of Regret: Olum Quirino’s Redemption Effort in Chua East

LSK TV Update — November 19, 2025

A dramatic political shift has shaken Chua East after long-time political rival Olum Quirino, the LC3 Chairperson of Orom Sub-county, publicly apologized for leading a decade-long anti-Oryem movement and announced his full support for Minister Henry Okello Oryem ahead of the 2026 general elections.

For years, Quirino was considered the central figure of the opposition bloc that strongly challenged Minister Oryem’s political influence. The rivalry dates back to around 2011 and involved powerful allies including Aturu Ambrahim (now Assistant RDC of Kwania), Hon. Arwai Christopher (LC5 Chairperson of Kitgum), and Luwor, the candidate who defeated Minister Oryem in the 2021 NRM primaries.

A Decade of Rivalry and a Turning PointThe coalition’s 2021 primary victory was widely celebrated by Oryem’s opponents, but it soon proved to be a short-lived triumph. Fragmentation within the group quickly surfaced as key figures pursued individual opportunities, leaving Quirino politically isolated.

Despite their strong anti-Oryem campaign, promised development projects in Orom and surrounding areas failed to materialize. The once-united front ultimately left residents with political divisions and few tangible benefits.

According to Quirino, the coalition’s success in denying Minister Oryem the NRM flag came at a cost that the community has continued to bear.

Quirino’s Emotional AdmissionIn late 2025, with tensions rising ahead of the January 2026 elections, Quirino called an unexpected public gathering at Orom Trading Centre—this time not to mobilize against the minister, but to confess.

Addressing residents in an emotionally charged speech, he openly admitted that the anti-Oryem campaign had been driven by anger, pride, and manipulation from political allies who later abandoned the community.

“My people of Chua East, my dear people of Orom,” Quirino said, fighting back tears.
“I have wronged you. I have been blind. I have been a fool.”
He went on to reveal that the opposition leaders who once influenced his decisions had since moved on to secure government appointments, leaving the constituency with unfulfilled promises and deep divisions.

Quirino acknowledged that despite past disagreements, Minister Oryem had demonstrated consistent commitment to Chua East through government networks, long-standing influence, and sustained development initiatives.

A Stunning Political U-turnIn an unprecedented move, Quirino urged voters to rally behind Minister Oryem in the upcoming general election, describing it as an act of reconciliation and a step toward restoring unity and development in the area.

“We made him lose the party flag, but we paid the price for it,” he declared.
“Now, we must fix the mistake. I ask you — give all your votes to Minister Henry Okello Oryem. Let us heal this wound.”
Residents reacted with a mix of shock and emotion as the once-fiery political opponent publicly endorsed the man he had battled for over a decade. The moment marked one of the most dramatic political reconciliations in recent memory within the constituency.

A New Chapter for Chua East?As the 2026 elections approach, Quirino’s admission and endorsement could significantly shift political dynamics in Chua East—especially among voters who had previously aligned with the opposition movement he led.

Whether this public act of remorse translates into political momentum for Minister Oryem remains to be seen, but it has undoubtedly altered the tone of the campaign season.
